China’s high-speed rail has launched a new luggage pickup and delivery service (July 2025), allowing

passengers to have their bags collected from home/hotel and delivered directly to the station — or sent from the station to their final address. No more carrying heavy luggage through the station. The service must be booked in advance and is charged per item.

Bigger Points for Young Travelers + Seat Upgrades

From October 20, China Railway upgraded its “Railway Express” frequent-traveler program:

  • Travelers aged 14–28 now earn 10× points (double the normal rate).
    Example: Spend 1,000 RMB → get 10,000 points → worth 100 RMB.
  • Normal members earn 5× points, and seniors (60+) earn 15× points.

Points can be used to:

  • Redeem train tickets, and
  • Upgrade seats during the trip by scanning the QR code on the seat armrest or asking the train staff.

Upgraded tickets cannot be changed or refunded unless affected by railway issues.
